This Full-Moon-in-Scorpio Limpia Can Lead to Transformation

With eclipse season well underway, Mercury retrograde, and a memorable solar eclipse that attracted spectators across the globe, it may feel like we’re in the middle of an astrological whirlwind. This highly energetic time, which began back in March, will see us through to the New Moon in Taurus on May 7. Up next is the Scorpio Full Moon. This will provide space for you to take a momentary pause from the outside world, and dig deep within.

Eclipse season shakes things up, making it easier for us to face our shadows. We can begin healing once we can face them and accept the messages we receive. It’s like filling a plate with all the trauma in our lives and wiping it clean with meditation, journaling, chanting, singing, dancing, confiding in Spirit, and performing sacred moon rituals like a spiritual limpia.

The Aries New Moon on Apr. 8 was the starting line for your most delicious manifestations, and the Scorpio Full Moon follows to clear the path of any obstructions and blocks. Consider this full moon, which comes during the peak of many powerful astrological transits, a transformational time for you. Use this time to take special care of yourself, love your inner child, and remind yourself you will be OK. Shed all that weighs you down, including patterns, negative thinking, and toxic people and places. Most importantly, love yourself throughout the process of healing. When things get too heavy to carry alone, seek the support of a trusted companion, your ancestors, animal guides, and spirit. You never have to carry it alone. Utilize the beauty of full moons to lighten your energetic load so you can continue living fully and authentically.

Spiritual Cleansing Limpia Recipe For the Full Moon in Scorpio

Ingredients:

Geraniums

Sage and Palo Santo

Florida Water

Rue Water

Rose water

Citrine, malachite, and amethyst crystals

Patchouli, rosemary, and bergamot essential oils

Pink Himalayan salt

Sea salt

Damiana, dragon’s blood, aloe, and cats claw herbs

Black candle

Ritual:

  1. Begin by opening your windows and even your doors if you can. Burn some sage and walk around your space from the back to the front door. Allow the sacred smoke to waft around windows and doorways, as well as the corners of the ceilings. Then, from feet to crown, allow the smoke to circle you and give thanks for its cleansing and purifying properties.
  1. Next, boil a big pot of water and add a few handfuls of the herbs you feel called to work with. Lower the heat and gently simmer the herbs for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and allow it to cool to the right temperature.
  1. As the water cools, add several drops of essential oils and a few splashes of Florida water, one splash of rue water to remove negativity and the evil eye, and one splash of rose water for self-love. Mix it in with a wooden spoon if the water is too hot for your hands. If not, use your hands.
  1. Add one cup of Pink Himalayan salt and ½ a cup of sea salt and mix it with a wooden spoon or your hands. Sing, pray, and set your intentions. What are you shedding under the light of the Scorpio Full Moon?
  1. Strain the cooled water and bring the bowl to your shower. Cover the top of the limpia with geraniums and keep some of the flowers to put in a vase.
  1. Next, make a Scorpio full moon altar. You can keep your altar intact until the new moon. Place the remaining geraniums in a vase and position your black candle next. Then, surround your vase with flowers and a black candle with crystals. Intuitively place them for an energetic crystal grid symbolic of the full moon. You can write a list of all the things you want to remove or let go of during this full moon and carefully burn the list with the flame from the candle, discarding the ash in a bowl of cold water and then flushing the water down the toilet. You can do this before or after your limpia.
  1. As you stand in the shower, have your limpia nearby. Place your hands over your solar plexus chakra and imagine a beautiful sun shining brightly through that energetic center. Visualize the hot sun melting away all you release under the full moon. Then, when you feel ready, open your eyes and gently pour your limpia over your body and head.
  1. If you can, allow yourself to air dry. Put on your favorite robe or a piece of clothing that makes you feel sexy and luxurious. Remind yourself of your beauty, which shines from the inside out.
