It came as little surprise when Stewart launched Renggli in the fall of 2023, a clothing line that consists of elevated basics with contemporary silhouettes that are designed to last.
Although Stewart had already released a sportswear line in the past, she admits that venturing into clothing was a daunting experience. “I was just so excited that I was given the opportunity to do ready-to-wear,” she says, “but I wasn’t sure if it was going to sell—I had never sold clothes before, just leggings.”
Renggli began as a quest to create the perfect pair of trousers that were inspired by Carharrt work pants. “I just felt like those were not on the market in a wearable, cool way,” she says. To elevate it, she handpicked simple yet distinct colors in shades such as butter yellow, ochre, and red—a departure from basics in classic neutrals—allowing shoppers to experiment with their style in a delicate way. Of course, uniformity is key to Stewart’s style. “I always joke with the team that you can’t make a teapot without a top,” she quipped. “So everything we make has a matching top in the same color.”
The brand’s first drop back in September 2023 was wildly successful, with several restocks being sold out within an hour; a new drop is planned for April 11. But Stewart acknowledges the challenges and embraces the lessons learned from launching—and running—a clothing business. “I’ve never run a brand, and this is my first real experience into that,” she says. “I think the main lesson I learned since launching Renggli is to have patience, and just take a beat. Eventually things will always work out how they’re supposed to, and it makes it that much more rewarding once you nail it.”

Expected Suiting, Unexpected Sneakers
This look is something I wear all day long—from drinks to a casual business meeting. I would wear it while running errands, or just about anything. The Vans just adds a cool touch and make it more practical for me to run around in. You might not see it clearly in the photo, but I layered a Renggli cardigan over it. Layering a sweater over a blazer may not be groundbreaking, but it makes the look a lot more feminine and casual.

Daytime Polish, in Pink
I love this skirt from Chanel. It has a matching top, but I decided to go with a white Renggli tee. I’ve had these pink shoes for a year which I love, and I think they blew up when I posted them but I haven’t found the time to wear them since. I don’t plan any of my looks—I just think the night before what I’m going to do that day, and grab pieces that I feel like wearing and that’s what came together. This look is very much spring/summer and perfect for lunch (or even an early dinner if you wanted).

Colored Cargos
We did a work pant when we launched our last few collections, but we upgraded it with this slimmer fit. We just felt like there were some improvements to make. We’re still going to offer the boyfriend fit, but we wanted to have two categories. So you could do either a boyfriend style fit or a slimmer fit, which I prefer personally. For going out, I would wear the boyfriend. I would cuff up the bottoms a little unevenly and wear a really sky high pump and a cool jacket. For the slim fit, I would wear it in the daytime with a ballet flat. I just think that that’s a little bit more put together, especially because you don’t have the height to play with the different proportions.

Business on Top, Party on the Bottom
When going to meetings for work, I think what’s most important is that you feel comfortable in what you’re wearing. And if that means wearing a mini skirt, I think that’s fine. I just think a mini skirt with ballet flats, if you wanted to add some tights to the mix, is totally acceptable. The shirt is a white button down from Celine. I’ve had it for two years and it’s the perfect button-down—so shout out to them! My skirt is our new Renggli cargo skirt in this new stucco color, which I have to say is a really beautiful color. It’s really chic, and it goes well with black, navy, chocolate brown, pink, light blue—and it’s so good with red, too! Red is super hard to style, but it goes well with this skirt. I’d say this skirt is kind of like your “everything skirt.”
