The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating a plane crash in southern Ohio that killed three people Saturday.
A Piper PA-32 airplane crashed near Jackson, Ohio, Saturday, according to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
The crash occurred approximately around 12:35 p.m. local time, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP). The plane went down in a field, around a quarter-mile away from James A. Rhodes Airport.
The crash claimed the lives of three victims: Daniel Baker, 44, Zebulon Logan, 45, and Dan Baker, 75, the state highway patrol said in the press release.
They were the only ones on board, according to FAA’s statement to The Hill.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the FAA are investigating the incident. The NTSB will be in charge of the probe and will provide updates, per FAA’s statement to The Hill.
The NTSB said a representative will be on scene by Sunday morning.
Their investigations involve three areas: the pilot, the aircraft and the operating environment, according to the board.
Details on where the plane was heading or where it took off from are currently unknown.
