All of the Supermodels Changed Outfits for Emily Ratajkowski’s 2024 Met Gala After-Party

Fresh from the 2024 Met Gala celebrating the new Costume Institute exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” glamorous gala goers streamed downtown for the exclusive Met Gala after-parties. In what would otherwise be a sleepy part of downtown Manhattan, celebrities flocked to the Financial District for the AprèsMET party at the Water Street Associates (WSA) Building, hosted by Emily Ratajkowski, Paloma Elsesser, Raul Lopez, Carlos Nazario, Francesco Risso, and Renell Medrano. All of the supermodels were in attendance, and somehow, everyone found time to quickly change ensembles between the Met Gala and after-party.

A departure from the Met Gala dress code “The Garden of Time,” after party attendees swapped floor-length ball gowns, floral appliques, fine jewelry, and voluminous trains for outfits more free-spirited and spectacularly slinky. On a night when after-party looks are as scrutinized as what is worn on the Met Museum’s steps, the post-Met Gala crew did not disappoint.

All of the supermodels in attendance transformed outfits for the after-party, including Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski, Paloma Elsesser, Vittoria Ceretti, Adwoa Aboah, and Precious Lee. Ratajkowski changed from the Versace backless sheer crystalized gown she wore to the Met Gala into an archival sheer McQueen for Givenchy dress. Aboah swapped her red H&M set for an Alaia set. And the supermodels weren’t the only ones who changed for the after-party. Charli XCX traded her Met Gala Marni T-shirt dress for a short Marni frock and sunglasses.

While the Met Gala is famously hosted on the first Monday in May each year, the AprèsMET after party didn’t get going until well into the first Tuesday in May. From 1 a.m. onwards, guests like Lana Del Rey, Bad Bunny, Jaden Smith, and Law Roach arrived at the downtown fête. Top fashion designers also joined in on the festivities, including Marc Jacobs, Olivier Rousteing, Raul Lopez, Victor Glemaud, Hillary Taymour, and Francesco Risso.

As Met Gala guests arrived at WSA, they were whisked past a lush red carpet, up a set of stairs, through a labyrinthian hallway, and up an elevator to the 30th floor, where they were greeted by sweeping views of New York City. Candelabras with faux dripping wax, a champagne glass tower, and a colossal daybed covered in cloudy cotton transformed the raw space into a flamboyant affair. While drinking Clase Azul cocktails and sending air kisses across the mirrored dance floor, the partygoers danced well into the night. At this glamorous after-party, it was all beauty and no sleep.
