Every Outfit Kate Middleton Has Worn on Christmas Day

When the Princess of Wales first joined the Royal Family for Christmas at Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk in 2011, after marrying Prince William at Westminster Abbey earlier that year, she nailed the formal dress code in a maroon coat dress and a matching hat by Jane Corbett.

It’s a tried-and-tested formula that she’s adopted countless times in the decade-plus since then. Kate often opts for festive colors for the annual Christmas Day service at St Mary Magdalene church, from the forest-green Sportsmax coat she wore in 2015 to her burgundy Catherine Walker look from 2018 (the year that Meghan Markle joined the royals for Christmas for the first time).

Occasionally, the royal will throw a fashion curveball into the mix: think of the cheery plaid Miu Miu coat she wore in 2017, or the wide-brimmed feather hat that she wore with a dark green coat in 2022, which was British country-set style, through and through.

Below, see all of the Princess of Wales’s Christmas Day outfits to date.
