Hairstylist Neil Moodie, whose clients include Gemma Chan, Nicola Coughlan, and Jodie Comer, shares his top three party hairstyles to consider ahead of your next outing. Sequins optional.

A clean, slicked-back bun or ponytail, worn low on the head, is a celebrity favorite for a reason: it goes with everything. Minimal, androgynous and often worn with a side parting, it’s a style that works just as well during the day as it does at night. How to achieve the look? “On damp hair, create a parting, then apply Oway Flux Potion to roots and dry the hair with a paddle brush to flatten the style,” says Moodie. “Mist hairspray generously then comb back into a low ponytail.” For a cute added detail, secure it with a ribbon.
