White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will hold a press briefing Thursday afternoon, joined by National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby.
The briefing comes as the House on Thursday passed the annual defense authorization bill, sending the $886 billion Pentagon policy and funding package to President Biden’s desk.
The final version of National Defense Authorization Act, agreed to between the House and Senate, overcame opposition from hard-line conservatives who objected to its exclusion of a number of amendments passed by the House over the summer to weed out what they call “woke” Pentagon policies.
The press briefing is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST.
