Overall, real estate stocks have been left out of the general optimism that has marked the early stages of 2024. While the major market averages have all pushed higher to start the trading year, real estate has ranked as the worst performer among the S&P 500’s 11 sectors, with the segment down 3.2% since the end of 2023.
