The Best Red Carpet Looks From The 2024 Golden Globes — So Far

It’s officially the start of the 2024 Hollywood awards season, and you know what that means — great fashion. And it all starts with the 81st Golden Globe Awards. The first awards show of the season, celebrating superb film and television over the last year, not only sets the tone for who’s going to be winning — and losing — this awards season, but also acts as an indicator of just what designers, trends and accessories we’ll see gracing red carpets from now until the Oscars.

And this is a big one. This Golden Globes is the first awards show since the 2023 Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which halted the entertainment industry for months. And after several years of turmoil surrounding this particular awards show, including an industry-wide boycott that saw the Golden Globes gp off the air in 2022,  the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) is no more, and the Globes are officially under new leadership.

There’s a lot riding on this show, but we were not expecting to be disappointed when it comes to the fashion. After a year that has given rise to Barbie-core, there’s been a resurgence in the joy of not just dressing, but dressing for fun. And the 81st Golden Globes carpet was no exception.

Ariana Greenblatt

The Barbie star hit the red carpet early on into the night, looking chic AF in St. Laurent for her appearance at the Golden Globes. It wasn’t Barbie pink, but the star’s tailored pantsuit look, topped off with Jimmy Choo heels and a plethora of Chopard jewels (those rings!!), was screaming sophistication. Quinta Brunson

Best Actress in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy nominee Quinta Brunson of Abbott Elementary was one of the first people on Globes carpet. She wore a champagne Balmain column dress and Jimmy Choo shoes. Photo: Amy Sussman/Getty Images.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph

The Little Mermaid isn’t nominated at the 81st Golden Globe Awards (crying), but Da’Vine Joy Randolph is clearly channeling some “Part of Your World” realness — or maybe “The Birth of Venus” realness with her stunning merlot-coloured TK gown.

Celine Song

If you haven’t watched Past Lives yet, the first thing you need to turn it on ASAP. Song, here in Loewe, is the creative genius behind the movie and is nominated for best screenplay and best director.

Rosamund Pike

Rosamund Pike walked the Golden Globes carpet in a black lace gown fit for a Victorian funeral. The look wasn’t just an homage to Saltburn, but also necessary, with her veil serving as “a protective veil” after the actress had a skiing accident the day after Christmas. Photo: Amy Sussman/Getty Images.
