Japan finance minister says up to BOJ to decide when to end negative rates By Reuters

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japanese Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki said on Friday that monetary policy including whether and when the central bank may end its negative interest rate policy was up to the Bank of Japan to decide.
“I am aware there are various opinions in the market,” Suzuki told reporters when asked if weak gross domestic product data may affect the timing of an end to negative rates, which many investors expect to happen in March or April.
